Golf, Wine & Safari · South Africa
The Cape Winelands, Garden Route & Timbavati
A sample itinerary · Twelve days of championship golf and Cape wine, closing with three nights in the bush
Signature Moments
What stays with a guest is rarely the full itinerary, but a handful of particular moments. These are the three this journey is built around.

South Africa's Finest Courses, Designed by Nicklaus and Player
Four of the five rounds are played on designs by two of golf's greats — Jack Nicklaus's Pearl Valley in the Winelands, and Gary Player's three championship courses at Fancourt, closing on The Links, ranked number one in South Africa.

Stellenbosch & the Historic Lanzerac Estate
A full day to settle in after the journey — time to explore Stellenbosch, South Africa's second-oldest town, and the vineyards and cellar of Lanzerac, a wine estate first settled in 1692.

Three Days in the Timbavati
Three nights at &Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge, on a private reserve bordering the Kruger National Park — morning and afternoon game drives in Big Five country, time on foot with an &Beyond ranger, and dinner under the stars.

Where You Stay
Three properties: a historic Cape Dutch wine estate, a championship golf resort, and a private safari lodge on the edge of the Kruger.

Lanzerac Hotel & Spa
Nights 1–4A legendary Cape Dutch estate at the foot of the Jonkershoek mountains, famed for releasing the world's first commercial Pinotage. Four restaurants, an historic wine cellar and a complimentary shuttle into Stellenbosch village.

Fancourt Hotel
Nights 5–8The five-star hotel at the centre of a 1,500-acre estate, ranked 14th in Golf World's Top 100 Golf Resorts in the world, with all three championship courses, five restaurants and the spa a short walk from the door.

&Beyond Ngala Safari Lodge
Nights 9–11&Beyond's thatch-and-stone lodge on a 14,700-hectare private reserve bordering the Kruger National Park. Twenty private cottages, each with its own veranda, a pool looking out over the bush, a lantern-lit boma and courtyard for dinner, and twice-daily game drives with &Beyond's rangers and trackers.
Where You Play
Five rounds — two in the Winelands and three on the Fancourt estate, four of them on Nicklaus and Player designs.

De Zalze Wine & Golf Estate
Round One · Day 3A design that weaves through a working vineyard and ranks among the finest courses in the Cape. Wine tasting and lunch follow at the estate the same afternoon.

Pearl Valley Golf Estate
Round Two · Day 4Signature Jack Nicklaus design set in the heart of the Winelands, and the round that closes the Cape leg — a five-course dinner at Lanzerac follows.

Fancourt Montagu
Round Three · Day 6Parkland golf beneath the Outeniqua mountains, and the gentlest of the three Fancourt tests — the right course to open the Garden Route chapter on.

Fancourt Outeniqua
Round Four · Day 7The second of the estate's parkland courses, more open than Montagu and a fair test before the evening turns to a private wine tasting and dinner.

The Links at Fancourt
Round Five · Day 8Ranked number one in South Africa, and the reason most parties come to Fancourt. Played last, once the group has found its rhythm on the estate — a farewell dinner at Henry White's follows before the journey heads north to the bush.
Your Journey
Cape Town to Stellenbosch by road, east to George by air for Fancourt, then north through Johannesburg to the Timbavati for the final three nights.
